Kinderchor
Concordia Community Kinderchor is CMC’s community children’s chorus for children in grades 4-8. The choir meets weekly on Tuesday afternoons for 55 minutes to rehearse, learn sight-singing and ear-training, and develop a healthy classical singing style. The primary focus is on singing traditional sacred choral music of master classical composers, with a special emphasis on singing German chorales and folksongs. Sometimes they have additional workshops, clinics or extended rehearsals that build relationships and foster new singing challenges in preparation for their special appearances. They regularly sing in two and sometimes in three parts.
Kleinkinderchor
The Kleinkinderchor is the preparatory choir for the Kinderchor. Children grades K-3rd grade meet weekly for 30 minutes and learn solfeg, rhythm chants, and singing games that and to find their singing voice so that they can match pitch in a healthy head voice. They sing regularly in German and English and perform several times a year in nursing homes, churches and for events. Once a semester, the Kleinkinderchor has a day where instead of rehearsing, they have a fun craft project that helps reinforce the songs they are learning.
Beginning Organ Class
Students with intermediate keyboard skills have the option of enrolling in Beginning Organ class. This is instructed by Mrs. Cindy Calafaty and is currently offered on Tuesday afternoons from 1:45pm to 2:45pm. Enrollment is by audition/interview only. The class follows the semester (15 classes) and is $225 (online payment) per semester or $215 per semester, if paid by cash or check.

Handbell Choir
To develop more ringers in the area, CMC would like to open this class to any adults or high school students who want to participate. Handbells offer an easy entry into music participation within a congregation. We want to develop more ringers from across age groups and church homes. Because the addition of adults and high school students would help our younger ringers, we would like to offer this class at cost for the space and supplies for high schoolers and adults.
Beginning Strings Ensemble
Newly formed in Spring 2026, the Beginning Strings Ensemble is a group of young musicians focused on learning how to play violins, violas, and cellos in an ensemble setting led by one of our strings instructors, Mrs. Rebecca Sowell. CMC offers a Beginning Strings Class for 4th graders at St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School during the school day. CMC also now offers an additional Beginning Strings Class for 2-3rd graders on Tuesday afternoons from 4:45-5:30pm, led by Ms. Cherokee Plimeling. CMC has a very limited number of fractional-sized instruments available. Check with the instructor for the proper size for your child and CMC will assist in procuring the instrument. Cost is $225 (online payment) per semester or $215 if payment is in cash or check.
Beginning Guitar Class
The CMC beginning guitar class is designed to provide students with fundamental skills to make music with the guitar. Whether playing the guitar for friends and family, or finding personal enjoyment through making your own music, learning chords and notes on the guitar can be a rewarding life-long activity. The class meets once each week for seven weeks.
The course is 7 weeks long, led by Dr. Gary Moege. It is open to students grades 6-12, with a min. enrollment of 4 and a max. enrollment of 8.
The fall course is on Tuesdays from 5:45pm to 6:30pm and runs from Oct 6 through November 17. Cost is $75 for the course and must be paid in full.
