Our Story

The seeds of an idea for the Concordia Music Conservatory began in the spring of 2021 with a strong vision to provide a solution to the growing need for qualified musicians for churches and the community. In the summer of 2021, the SPLHS Board of Trustees agreed to partner with CMC by offering the use of the music building facilities on the SPLHS campus. On September 2, 2021, the Board of Directors held its first official meeting. The academic year of 2021-2022 saw an enrollment of 9 students in strings and voice.

In June of 2022 CMC held the first two music camps with a total enrollment of 43 students. In September of 2022, CMC received its Certificate of Incorporation by the State of Missouri. In the fall semester of 2022 enrollment grew to 36 students. In December CMC filed for 501c3 status with the IRS and was granted public charity status under IRC Section 501(c)(3) in May of 2023.

Enrollment continues to grow, spring 2023 saw 56 enrolled students and the 2023 summer camp enrollment almost doubled with 56 students. Fall semester 2023 enrollment is at 63 with a waiting list! Students currently come from a 60-mile radius for private lessons and community ensemble rehearsals.

CMC is committed to continuing to grow enrollment and events as well as planning for their own building that includes rehearsal space and a performance hall.
