Kinderchor
The Concordia Kinderchor has performed with the Singing Saints in the annual Riverside Concert in Waverly, with the Sedalia Symphony Orchestra, for the Concordia Fall Festival, and for two Missouri District Conventions (in Columbia, Missouri, and in Cape Girardeau). The choir completed their first summer tour, singing in St. Charles, St. Louis, Washington, and Cape Girardeau. They also performed with Christian singer Blake Flattley in concert. The summer tour requires students to enroll and attend the 5-day summer choir camp.
Concordia Community Kinderchor is CMC’s community children’s chorus for children in grades 4-8. The choir meets weekly on Tuesday afternoons from 4:20 to 5:15pm to rehearse, learn sight-singing and ear-training, and develop a healthy classical singing style. The primary focus is on singing traditional sacred choral music of master classical composers, with a special emphasis on singing German chorales and folksongs. Sometimes they have additional workshops, clinics, or extended rehearsals that build relationships and foster new singing challenges in preparation for their special appearances. They sing in two and sometimes in three parts.
In addition to their concerts, Kinderchor sings regularly in nursing homes and retirement centers in the Mid-Missouri region, as well as for services and events.
