Kinderchor
The Concordia Kinderchor has performed with the Singing Saints in the annual Riverside Concert in Waverly, with the Sedalia Symphony Orchestra, for the Concordia Fall Festival, and for the Missouri District Convention (LCMS)in Columbia, Missouri. They have been invited back to the Riverside Concert and to sing for the 2025 Christmas Festival at Heit’s Point Camp in Lincoln, MO and to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for a convention in June 2026. This will be a part of their first mini-tour, which will take them also to the St. Louis region.
Concordia Community Kinderchor is CMC’s community children’s chorus for children in grades 4-8. The choir meets weekly on Tuesday afternoons for 45 minutes to rehearse, learn sight-singing and ear-training, and develop a healthy classical singing style. The primary focus is on singing traditional sacred choral music of master classical composers, with a special emphasis on singing German chorales and folksongs. Sometimes they have additional workshops, clinics or extended rehearsals that build relationships and foster new singing challenges in preparation for their special appearances. They regularly sing in two and sometimes in three parts.
Kinderchor sings also yearly at the annual Saint Paul Christkindlesmarkt and regularly in nursing homes, and retirement centers in the Mid-Missouri region.
